He doesn’t defend the metaverse spending. He argues it’s not that much comparably but a) that’s kinda subjective. Is 10 out of 40 billion a lot? and b) that’s no defense really.

Surprised at this post. Arguing against that meta is dying is a straw man. It’s not a myth that the growth thesis from here is weak and there’s a massive headwind on cash flow from all the money being thrown at the metaverse projects with n

Not gonna comment after this, I posted more in the other thread. This is spin by you after being called on saying something misleading.

Yep, if you change what you said to be qualified by a specific location it can become an accurate observation. If I say “people are at least 6 feet tall” that’s totally wrong. “All people on the basketball court I’m looking at right now are

Alright, guess we can’t agree on factuality of general statements, unqualified by any location, like “gas prices are creeping back up” on this forum any longer.

That’s not relevant to the factuality of the claim that prices are creeping up presently, is it?

OP said prices were creeping up & I only shared a reputable source showing that’s not true. OP did not say “gas prices will start creeping up for <reason x>.”

Ok well what is this then? Do the voters of GA and Trump rioters have agency or not? If they do then what’s wrong with calling them out. You’re sounding a bit condescending saying they’re just being swept by forces beyond their control and

Why do you run to a victim/perpetrator binary. It’s totally possible to observe that people’s behavior is wildly inappropriate without any baggage of claiming victimhood. Seems like projection for you to go there. Jan 6 was totally in

What, seriously, what are you talking about with the bad faith? We’re responding to your comment which said baseball cards and stocks worked the same way. It’s bad faith to point out how wrong what you said was? Sorry about that, guess we c

I’m just saying with crypto all we have is its price to go on, plus fuzzy allusions from people like you about how value is beyond the understanding of the unwashed masses. For an otherwise useless digital token which can only be held or ex

Yeah I see what darkteflon is saying but he is clearly wrong. And condescending about it to boot. There is a meaningful and discussion worthy difference between “value” (price, really), driven by speculation and hope versus price driven by

I think it’s clear people are distinguishing value based purely on speculation in a scarce asset and value based on demand (and still maybe speculation) for some underlying good which has utility. Be that a house, a car, or stock of a SaaS

So to me it sounds like you do acknowledge the concept of underlying value. A house has utility, it is scarce, there is competition for it, ergo its value is a function of demand for the asset (aka a proxy for the utility of owning the asse

You don’t believe in any concept of utility relating to value? You’d argue that a house has no underlying value due to location and comforts?

Airlines have significant rules governing passenger behavior and speech. Vehicle ownership is subject to all sort of licensing and tracking, not to mention the volumes of traffic law you can be fined or even lose your license for violating.
