I use both uMatrix and uBlock on Firefox for Android. I must say, compared to desktop both are comparatively awkward to use. It'd be nice if Firefox could overhaul the way extensions are handled on Android. As an example the reload but

For many sensors especially critical ones there are multiple independent ones (like indicated airspeed). If they deviate there are standard procedures to determine which one(s) are faulty. For IAS you basically set a determined thrust at a

Visual flight conditions give you your angle relative to the horizon but not necessarily AoA especially in non-normal flight conditions (like steep ascent or descent).

Afaik that's only for cloud. There the software runs on an opaque virtualization layer. Windows is still closed source. Therefore there is a lot of speculation around the phone home capabilities.

Imagine how effective an intelligence campaign would be if the NSA went to Microsoft and let them place backdoors for specific targets. Where would you draw the line?

Well, it depends. Since I switched to Linux I was quite surprised to see how many of the packages have German or European maintainers.

So there is no protection if the entire device is stolen (or put in a backroom at a border)? You can just boot it up and acess the disk without having a user? The Wikipedia page on Bitlocker does not mention this problem for TPM mode. Or is

For me, not so much. I installed Mint and skipped the step (as to not to introduce more complexity the first time), thinking 'I can do that later'. The disk is still unencrypted... Is there a way to do this and to restore the syst

At least in Europe using Win10 as an attorney (or physician for that matter) may bring you into hot waters.

I think you have less congestion. I can come back 10 min later if the maker is blocked. That doesn't work with mowers.

More to the point, you should put untrusted input into a different type from trusted input. As much as I admire the design of the servlet API I think the biggest mistake is that everything is transmitted as Strings. The input characters sho

But there's more to it to desire an own mower: 1. Everybody wants to mow at the same time 2. Community goods are often treated careless, leaving me with a dirty or non-functional mower when it is my turn 3. Who is responsible for repai

A part of my machine which I have no control over and which I cannot remove is a backdoor. Some would call that even malware. I don't care whether it has been solely used for the intended purpose which I can't even verify.

I wondered about this as well, especially as Windows (10) still has issues with deeply nested (=long paths) structures. Especially in conjunction with OneDrive (forced upon me at work) it's an annoyance.
