"But social media, Berners-Lee said, was still being used to propagate hate." This is one of the side effects of an open web, and one I feel we should live with in the interests of freedom. The only alternative of which I am aware

Because many people have poor impulse control and it's not nearly as easy as you present. If it were, many fewer people would have issues with obesity. It's not as if those people don't know why they are overweight.

The article calls out sexual performance and muscle building supplements (many of which are snake oil). The word vitamin doesn't appear in the article.

Some people take drugs out of curiosity or just for fun. Many drugs make you feel good. A sense of euphoria is nice even if you have nothing else wrong. Not every drug user is trying to escape something.

I don't pay fees on either my checking or savings accounts unless I need to withdraw cash from a competitors' ATM or if I were to overdraw an account. I haven't paid a fee in years. There are still some decent banks out there

Isn't it also a little selfish to expect someone to live out their life in misery simply because you would feel bad if that person ended their own life? I have people in my life who have been struggling with mental illness for many yea

My wife went vegan and it caused her to become anemic. She talked to two different doctors, and tried different supplements. She is far healthier with a little meat in her diet than without. I'm not claiming this is the norm, but you s

Nothing is really "under my skin", I just don't see how these observations about a few select Trump supporters are valuable in the grand scheme of things. It comes across as stereotyping.

No offense, but those are all anecdotal observations and include no demographic information. As one person in millions, why do you feel your unscientific observations on this topic are relevant?

Let me give you a real-life example of an accident: My cousin, (completely sober, alert, and obeying all applicable traffic laws) ran over a slick substance on the road causing his car to slide into oncoming traffic. Unfortunately, his prog

That's also known as "innocent until proven guilty". Should it rather be the driver's fault to prove that it was an accident instead of intentional? How might one go about proving such a thing?

ICQ lives on as well, though not under the original management. The account I created in the 90s still works.

I could make an argument that it's a great parody of the alt-left, as the author has postulated an elaborate capitalist-driven conspiracy.

This is true of nearly every news or politics-based subreddit. Almost no one is interested in an intellectually honest discussion on policy, and dissenting opinions are heavily downvoted. It's extremely frustrating.

I tend not to give shows second chances. There are far more good shows than I have time. If one of the few I make time for disappoints me, I quit watching in favor of trying out a new one.

I have been so consistently disappointed by Capaldi's Doctor (due to poor writing, not Capaldi's acting) that any change is welcome. I just hope they don't run it into the ground. Taking every opportunity to point out that th

I'm agnostic and have no strong feelings on religion, and I find your comments very intolerant. Views like yours have no place in this community. It's not ok for you to tell people how they should live their lives.
