Just because you are moving to other services doesn't mean that those services will be around forever either. Short of running your own servers, you really can't be sure any service you subscribe to will be around indefinitely. That is the

I don't understand what people use to see new information from multiple websites at once if they aren't using RSS. Are they actually visiting 10 or 20 websites a day manually? Do "normal" users stick to just a few websites?

If anything at all, this really only measures where the happiest twitter users are located. I question this sampling methodology.

I'm not a big fan of Fox news (or any mainstream media for that matter) but in their defense, they basically reprinted the article from New Scientist. They even linked to the original article in their story.

I'm going to have to disagree here. At almost 8", it's still to big for most pockets, so it isn't easy to carry around casually. Spec wise, it's also inferior to the existing iPad in pretty much every way. The iPad mini seems like the "spec

In my opinion, Best Buy killed themselves. Their prices are high, their salespeople are pushy, and their return policy is an absolute nightmare.

Seiously guy, go away. I'm so tired of hearing this. Android is open, Google apps are not. You can download the source for Android right now, modify it freely, and put it on a device. It may not be as open as some Linux distros, in that not

I think iTunes was probably the bigger motivator for customers purchasing iPods. Before iTunes, there weren't a lot of places to legally purchase digital music, and ripping CDs was kind of cumbersome.

Unfortunately, that law doesn't stand up to scrutiny. I've read several stories today alone where the question in the headline cannot be answered accurately with a simple "no", not that this headline is one of them.

IMO, it's a pretty sorry excuse for a law. While you can often answer with "no" and be accurate, it doesn't happen enough to say "always" or "any". Reading through my RSS feeds, I see about 20 headlines ending in question marks. Only 12 of

You don't have to upgrade to the iPhone 5. If you keep your existing phone, you won't have a problem. It sucks, but it's not like it will break your existing setup.

I think many people are angry because it appeared that Apple would include the adapter at first, but later retracted the statement on the website. Had they not mentioned the "free adapter" in the first place, there may have been less angst.

Wouldn't it depend on the implementation, not just the idea? I haven't read the power glove patent, so I'm not sure how close they are. Also, I think Nintendo's patents on the power glove expired several years ago.

I really don't think tablets have a lot to do with this slump. Software isn't driving hardware sales the way it did a few years ago. Personally, I haven't had to purchase a single upgrade in over 3 years. In the late 90s and early 00s, I wa

In my experience, most keyboards are washable. You just have to make sure to give them enough time to dry completely. I've washed around a dozen in my lifetime, using a garden hose or shower sprayer, and I've only had issues once. Your mile

I was unaware that the traditional PC was in danger of disappearing. I think PC sales are down because its been years since most people have had a real need for an upgrade. Hardware purchased in 2008 is still more than usable. Software does

True, but you are still loosing a significant number of human workers. You don't need 1000 humans to maintain 1000 robots, and those jobs won't be attainable by most people - especially the people the robots were designed to replace.

Wow, that seems a little pricey for what is offered. I would think they would be able to use an "off the shelf" netbook that already costs ~300 dollars, without Windows, and sell it for ~200. Windows accounts for a nice chunk of the price o

The title is a little misleading. At the beginning of the article, the author states that he is also using a bluetooth keyboard, since the on-screen keyboard is ill-suited for anything beyond "brief emails and outlines." At the end, the aut

I think the big reason universal health care isn't viable in the US is because of the system we already have in place. Big insurance and high-cost health care are firmly entrenched, and it would take an act of god to change this without ups

I wipe my phone across my shirt or pants after unlocking it so the fingerprints don't stick around. The cleaning has become just as much a part of muscle memory as entering the PIN, so it's not something I'm likely to forget.

I had a similar thought, but the less free internet has been in the works for years before these guys came around. With or without groups like this, it is inevitable. The powers in place fear what they can't control.
