Well, you have to take the legislation in its context, which obviously I don't have to explain to you. You can't just compare Québec with the American South (read some Charles Taylor for more detail as to why). As for getting a ne

Yes. I've never followed classes at McGill but Concordia was excellent. I mean, anywhere in the world you could be stuck with a sub-par teacher. The facilities (chemistry) were also great. Nothing to complain about.

It's a buyers market at the moment, you can get some good deals but I still think they're overpriced. Personally looking at Laval (just north of Montreal), where there are 3 metro stations and the train. It's cheaper and I&#x

I'm sorry you had to go through some bad experiences. However I think you're unfairly judging the city: Corrupt government: The fact that we talk about corruption does not mean its worse than elsewhere. Quality of higher education

I've just recently gone back to using Windows 10 after being a heavy XP user. I think Powershell is perfectly fine... for my uses up to now there's always a tutorial online to help. And some commands are the same between shells so

Then try again with Spacemacs. It's basically just a distribution of Emacs that comes preconfigured. I didn't even want to learn the Emacs bindings after using Vim, but this is a non-problem in Spacemacs. Just add the plugins you

Vim and Emacs are two different beasts. My personal setup is using Spacemacs, after having my own clumsy customization on both Vim and Emacs. So now I use Emacs with Vim keybindings. Spacemacs has been suggested many many times in similar t

They do, but static linking means the developer actually does have control of the environment. What happens if you ship the latest and greatest binary but the shared libraries aren't updated by the user?

It is cringe-y. I don't talk this way nor do any of my friends. Only one person in my family does so, and their friends all do it. The person is 20.

What about writing something like "Andy Grove, 1936-2016" in an HTML comment? Then a simple inspect element should clarify why the black bar is there. Edit: The tooltip mentioned above is an even better idea.

The healthcare isn't free. You pay for it every year and if you're so unlucky to need it, you have 100% access to top notch treatment. But you definitely pay for it.

Yes, I have some colleagues who went to Alberta - but they're now out of a job. They are chemists, not Chem.E's though. And I'm in eastern Canada, where the taxes are much higher. You'd pay 50% out of a 120K salary. See

Synthetic chemistry is not really something you want to learn on your own in your basement. You can do it, but you're much much much better off just following real laboratory courses in college. They'll teach you proper lab safe
