I was anxious while updating from SL yesterday. I'll have to wait before judging the product, but from the moment it booted I felt like I made the right choice. One caveat: SL provided me with ~6 hours of browsing battery life while M

So is the 8 core. I suspect they'll simply offer two "base" models, from which you can select an option to double the number of processors, and thus cores. Just like you can select a different processor on a MBP.

You take an hour of your time. It's a great review. Every page is not the same length, and some you can skim over if you're not interested.

Reading the review has convinced me to try it. I'll backup SL and download Mavericks next week!

I own a 2008 15" MBP. I didn't want to upgrade from Snow Leopard - there seemed to be a synergy between SL and my hardware. Even for free, I'm weary of upgrading my OS. Too scared to take a performance hit.

No. Millions of details need to be sorted out before even beginning to draft legislation. One must be insane to think this could "just work" and promote innovation. Try running an airport. This would be orders of magnitude more co

Math is satisfying in that you can study it either for its own sake, or in order to better arm yourself to understand the world. To each his/her preference. I like both.

The idea is a bit preposterous. There are tons of papers the author has not the slightest chance of understanding in under a week (considering he has to write about it, too). Going from paleobotany to financial economics to law to number th

The best place I've seen yet is Fort Lauderdale's Hollywood International Airport. Shuttle straight to the huge car rental station, pick a company, get a car. The drive to Miami is short, too.

Why couldn't the person(s) in charge of reviewing the script(s) have prepared a presentation/document in order to inform the rest of the crew about it and _then_ collectively decided to publish certain information?

Do you actually click on the link? Do you read some of the text, even if it's just a couple of paragraphs? Then I don't see a problem. If you just upvote without bothering to learn what the article is about, then I think it beats

I suspect "phase" relates to the wavefunction phase. Suppose you have a plane wave e^{-ikr+wt}, where k and r are vectors, then w is your phase.
