I made this simple interactive star map because I find that the existing programs, some of them very mighty, are a bit complicated to use. My star map contains the 300 brightest stars, the planets visible to the eye, the sun and the moon. T

Thanks. That was also my intention, to lower the entry level to programming a bit. Those old home computer BASIC variants were easier to learn compared to today's programming languages, in my opinion.

I have made something similar ( https://easylang.online/ide/ ). It is a language of its own, which is compiled and interpreted by WASM. The problem with hanging in endless loops is solved by running the interpreter in a

Thanks. Yes, the graphics are drawn on a canvas using JavaScript. The programming language itself is written in C and runs using WASM and is more inspired by BASIC. I have been working on the programming language for about 4 years. For the

Well done, I'm impressed. You raised some important and also some sore points. @documentation: there is still some work to be done. The tutorial "Code snippets" contains most things. @comments, empty lines: lines beginning wi

I generally don't think this is a good idea. However, it does exist in easylang: pr is an abbreviation for print and the dot is one for end .

There is no boolean data type in easy lang, so it is only needed in conditions.

It runs in the browser where the code is currently interpreted. I have already thought about compiling "fast functions" to WASM byte code.

Young people quickly find abbreviations for things they often write: BTW, LOL, IMHO... So it should be no problem to understand "func" as "function".

The logo turtle uses relative position and orientation for graphics. To do this with easylang you need a bit of trigometry. https://easylang.online/ide/?code=%23%20turtle%20graphics%0A...

For example, "func" is also used in other programming languages. I think frequently used keywords should be shorter. It is then less to type and IMO the code is then also more readable.

The assignment with a "let" would probably be really easier to understand. On the other hand, in most programming languages today, assignment is done with the "equal" symbol. This makes the code less noisy. Since the com
