The best part about this is how they calculated happiness from each tweet: http://arxiv.org/pdf/1101.5120.pdf > we avoid stemming words, i.e., conflating inflected words with their root form, such as all conjugations of a specic verb

I agree with you that business needs give rise to specs. That's pretty much how most of the specs are born. MS wanted to make Outlook Web Access behave more like the desktop version and came up with XMLHttpRequest - which went into the spec

I have had over a dozen positive articles about me written in newspapers, blogs, and TV segments over the years. Every single one of them misrepresented key facts, exaggerated my accomplishments, and oversimplified the invention/process. In

I disagree. Except for the ultra-wealthy 0.0001%ers, it is as close to a true meritocracy it has ever been because the ones with merit rise to the top. A good surgeon can make 3-4x a poor surgeon. A good programmer can make 2-3x a poor prog

Another thing you may want to do is stop pinging Gmail if it returns a couple of failures. I noticed that when Gmail signed off automatically for any reason, any additional pings caused the account to be locked. This is purely anecdotal so

This works very nicely. This is probably the most refined and well designed Chrome extension I've ever seen. Great job! You may want to gray/hide 'Clear all' when nothing new is showing up. Does it also do reddit's http://www.reddit.com/me

I love the approach you took with halting I/O operations until they can be all batched later. Could this be done in other languages, say JS? I know Python has yield, but I wonder how one could batch all Ajax queries during pageload of dashb

For one of my new projects, that is precisely what I am doing - making it possible to define complicated validation rules in a simple manner (and lots more). Would there be interest if we open-source it?
