Milwaukee is also pretty high end, and Fuel is their top tier gear. Definitely not needed for basic home repairs and work. My recco to people is Ryobi from Direct Tools Outlet on sale, easy to find sales on Ryobi and it works well for the p

Bleeding brakes still sucks and requires specific tools. Cars are worse but bikes aren't particularly easy. You need more than a screwdrive and an allen wrench.

Alternate title: "Fred wants to swap Di2 onto his non Di2 bike" Totally agreed though. I'm a cyclist and DIY is pretty simple, even on Di2. It's just that the author of this thread got in way over their head and wanted t

I totally disagree. Context switching a million times a day is _hard_. I'm sure Elon isn't running every little thing day to day in his companies, but it's absolutely impressive what he's able to get done. I don't l

I hire a lot of folks from auto industry. Many of the bigger players do most of their stuff in house. Most of it is... cobbled together quite poorly.

It's easier to reach out to one of your VPs and say "hey, I need a few folks" Whether they come from Tesla or are hired, Musk doesn't care. He just wants some DD

I'm interested here, could you elaborate? What are you doing to replace the gym? Workouts led by a virtual instructor? Presumably cardio? Super interesting and I'd love to hear more!

I can't wait for the day that a car _can_ drive better than a human. I see it as a safety thing. We're obviously nowhere near that but one can dream of safer roads...

My strat for something like this is often to 'massage' it with basic unix commands, and then feed sane input into the program. Not always the best way, but usuaully the easiest thing that works for me.

The bike subreddits are super painful. Mainly full of "Freds" IMO there is not actually a ton of what you talk about. If anything, it's the opposite, a ton of really inexperienced folks posting about their first 20 mile ride.
