I think commenters here are missing the point. Yes there are alternatives. Yes there are open source versions. But Microsoft isn't bringing paint back because it needs a powerful image editor. They are bringing paint back because many

The problem that I have is generally a social one. I live in a pretty progressive city, but even then it's a pain in the ass to order veg at many restaurants and get anything that doesn't suck . Many places do have at least one s

They offer KMS literally every region except China. No point in running a security/encryption service in China when they're just going to steal the keys.

Sounds like you're not. If you don't want the taste of meat, there is 0 point in you caring about this at all. But as you said, those options have no protein and aren't trying to be a meat replacement.

Agree, but Tesla is the poster-child for "self-driving" which certainly makes something like this that much more alarming.

Agree. I don't think something like FB or even Amazon.com going down has huge impact. People just come back later and get what they need done. OTOH, having a subscription based service in specific going down can be catastrophic becau

Google is a bad comparison here IMO because Google IS a datacenter company. No different than Amazon... They run datacenters and offer IaaS to customers, and piggy back off of that. I agree with you on Uber and Facebook though.
