Agree with all your points. I call shenanigans on people who say the cost of food/eating out is similar in SF to other cities. Eating out in SF is much more expensive. While there is great food to be had there, there is just as much me

Yep, Erlich Bachmann's house immediately came to mind when I saw the picture.

Yep. For me it would be too hard going back to living in an apartment after having my own house.

So are the RSU grants typically done as a fixed number of shares or is it adjusted based on how much those shares are worth on the market? For example, if the stock price tumbled would new offers be granted more shares to make up for the co

So you're saying 40% of FAANG engineers (not just seniors, but all engineers) are pulling in 400k? That's nuts... I swear the number being thrown around for FAANG was ~250k not that long ago. Next time I check one of these threads

Wow, I swear every time I read one of these salary threads the "typical" salary for a FAANG engineer jumps by 50k. Not doubting it, it's just fucking nuts. I do wonder though what percentage of engineers are making that type

Sounds like you are the expert. Will have to take your word on it. It's interesting phenomena though, isn't it? Those who praise diversity and immigration the loudest are often those most insulated from it. Why is that? Why don&#x

> I don't think you can pin the rise of nationalism solely on migration - non-European countries are also experiencing sharp increase in (right-wing) nationalism - including the US which you noted hasn't bourne the social cost.

And what will the UN do if we chose not to comply because the original intent of said convention is now being abused as an excuse for mass third-world immigration? No, I'm serious, what will the UN, a cabal of unelected bureaucrats who

Not really. With his pithy comment, lawnchair_larry touches on an interesting aspect of this discussion. Many of those who support mass 3rd-world immigration (engaging in much grandstanding and moral preening in the process) are entirely

No. It's not my problem. It's not our problem. The endless guilt trip ends here. We are not obliged to take a single soul from these countries. Our only obligation is to leave those areas the hell alone and look after our own civi

Europe doesn't have to do anything if it doesn't want to. They can just not let in refugees (whether legitimate refugees or pretenders).

Worth noting that the father of Ghislaine Maxwell (who was Epstein's partner and "procurer") was a Mossad agent. Hard to believe this all doesn't go far beyond a mere prostituion service for the rich and powerful.

Indeed. The current narrative being pushed is that Epstein was simply a pimp for the rich and powerful. It's clear there was much more going on though.

I'm sure Baltimore is great if you have the money to live in one of the nice areas like Inner Harbor or Locust Point (where this office is being built). Not so much otherwise.

This article seems out of place. A tech company opening a new office is rarely news worthy (except in the case of FAANG). Am I right to assume this is being posted as a "counter" to recent comments made by Trump regarding Baltimor

That's not what awakeasleep asked. Surnames are often associated with caste. They are not 100% aligned but combined with other information a prospective employer would have available it would be possible to identify caste in many cases
