This is incredibly good news. So many researchers have been looking for a way to alter the inmmune system to target cancer, and it's surprising (but also makes sense) that the solution seems to be around HIV. It's this kind of out of the bo

There's a money incentive at work for each patent submission. Every time I stare at that patent submission form I can't help but to imagine somebody doing a cool thing which does something similar, getting squashed by a lawyer. I've a coupl

Well, nothing prevents nintendo from using wii controllers and games on the new console, and possibly scaling them up to make them look better. Just lookup Wii HD on youtube to see the games running on 1080p on an emulator. Also sounds like

I'd get one just to play Donkey Kong Country,Zelda, and Metroid in Xbox like graphics. Though the leak says no 3D now, looks like a classic Nintendo move where in 2 years an upgraded 3D screen controller will be out at ~80 bucks each.

There's a theory about this. If one starts by learning object orientation first, it becomes second nature and easier to write well structured code afterwards(thinking of making smaller component, good structures etc) instead of vice versa,

Well... We all know what happed to admirals Ozzel and Mottie when they said "no repro" and "woops, missed that" in the daily scrum with Darth Vader.

Kudos on this. Great to see a good place to find this type of data, specially since other sources like Nature are very expensive.

Burnout? You must learn to forgive yourself for not doing enough, not being up to par to your past self, etc etc. Let your GF help you and be with you and take a break. a REAL brake. don't spend a week "resting" trying to cram in 20 books.

you need the fastest dev box to compile as fast as possible and run unit tests and bvt tests quickly. It's a true pain having to wait 20 or 30 minutes for something to compile and test just to keep working. Performance tests are done separa

Agree. It's harder than it seems. There's tons of things to consider with hardware related products. Imagine all the conditions: from software, to users, people with disabilities, hardware conditions, if it heats up, if the environment is t

If this doesn't work out at least some Atom servers would be nice as well. It would be great for datacenters that need to save cost on energy and are IO bound, like those saving email/messaging with an already underused cpu anyway. I wonder

I wonder how much of this money is spent on advertisement, probably most of it. I keep seeing tons and tons of TV ads. It's hard for me to believe that amount of loss comes just from datacenter/development costs of Bing and Msn.
