My 3GS is struggling with iOS 4.2.1: seconds of nonresponse in certain situations. I'm planning on jailbreaking and rolling the OS back sometime soon if I can figure out how to do it.

I got a lot out of your slides. Sometimes it can be difficult to discern the point of the slide without audio, but I felt that your slides communicated the point pretty well. Thanks for sharing!

I have a friend working on CloudAround for Android. They support a variety of cloud file hosting platforms. TuneBox is iOS though, so I will definitely be checking this app out since I have an iPhone!

This could be great if it doesn't have significant side effects for humans. I won't hold my breath.

I think many people find it difficult to contribute significantly after they've lost enthusiasm for their work, becoming dead wood. Staying five years might be stretching it for them.

Wow, thank you for the suggestion! I'll definitely be trying it. I can survive with webapp Twitter until my next upgrade (or even next year for the new iPhone if it's bearable enough).

I might go the jailbreak route if it enables me to do that.

My 4 was stolen and I got a used 3G off eBay for $100. Reasonable price, but it is frustratingly slow with iOS 4.2.1. The Facebook app is unusable. The 3G is definitely obsolete by now.

I might be missing something, but how will the stores prevent theft? Will I have to show my receipt to a salesperson after checking myself out?

It's not just that they have a high engineer/sales ratio, they're also hiring top engineers. Not all contractors do this so aggressively, and it can show in the quality of the products they deliver.

I plan on fixing up my bike over the winter. I walked this morning and it does take a while. It also feels rather dangerous given all the construction going on around here.

I commuted 27 miles (straight line) via commuter rail and it took me 1.5 hours each way. Rent was free (I lived at my parents) but it was tough. I was surprised by how long it took, and by the number of service interruptions that made the

The demo could use more work to better represent the problem that the project is trying to solve. It makes it seem as if the button is going to kick the demo off. What might be better is some sort of "Find Waldo" and the mouse pointer guid

Having owned an iPhone before owning a Mac, I appreciate Launchpad. I know there's quicker ways to launch, but it feels familiar to me and I like having it available.

Thanks for the explanation. I guess I was repeating what I've heard from the talking heads on TV that really provide popcorn financial advice.

There are plenty of non-tech-savvy people employed by the federal government/large companies. It's easy to underestimate how large a percentage it still is.

Can you explain how Obama could invoke the 14th? After reading it, it doesn't seem to mention any executive powers (IANAL, I am curious though).

I don't know if your statement applies to all soldiers universally. Or even to all injuries. I think it depends on the person and what happened to them.

Taking the stairs is such an easy way to burn a few calories. It surprises me how few people do it in my office. Although, as shown by your story, some people just aren't able to!
