It reminds me of the Pentagon, which has the same sort of stuff along with food vendors. It was pretty busy at lunch time and seemed to be a popular place to have a walk and talk meeting.

Is anyone able to slow this down? I realize they wanted an explosion effect but it goes too fast for me.

I agree, one would assume an economist would have this basic understanding of supply and demand.

Bill said it was CR-48 specific, not Chromium OS specific. Huge hint. I wonder if anyone has analyzed the circuit boards for a tiny artwork of some sort?

The behavior is standardized to a degree that it works for Windows, but according to your article Windows does its own poking around for the reset. It would be nice if there was one established protocol for resets rather than any poking ar

I can verify the vacation home market with an anecdote: my family has rented a few vacation homes with vrbo and the experience has been great.

In case you don't read to the end, more cities can be found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/walkingsf/4671594023/in/photost... Other American cities that I looked at include DC and Boston.

Why is it one or the other? Can't they just be different views for the same model (assuming the app doesn't need access to lower-level functionality)?

I thought it was a cool demo. This passed through my mind while watching it: It's strange to me how the 2d images in the 3d info popout immediately looked off. A 3d interface seems to warrant a 3d image.

#3: I've messed around with .NET WebMethods a bit. They allow me to go completely around the rigidness of ASP when I need to and they can stay inside the same C# backing code for the page.

The data is interesting, but it's unfortunate that the article doesn't specifically mention any of the 'pains' that the title is referring to.

I'm surprised that more people haven't mentioned javascript as a new language to get into. Becoming an expert at it looks like it could become extremely valuable very quickly, simply because it's everywhere on the web now. It doesn't matt

Arguably, Gates and Winfrey have built significant companies and become very powerful people. However, I see no good reason to ever listen to McCarthy.

As someone who has read about node but never actually looked at any demo code, this was a pretty good example. Now I understand what all the fuss is about!

I see what you're saying, but speed traps definitely cause significant bottlenecks in the DC area, probably because of rubbernecking and braking (or the fact that everyone is speeding).

Why not use late model computers or DVD players with some sort of digital input to control playback without mechanical input? It's not the player that's limited by the law, right?

I was aware of crowdsourcing design, but I like how the article outlined each step of their process. Looking forward to the next one about figuring out the message to convey with a site's design.

Some say NoSQL = "Not Only SQL", implying that there are alternatives to purely relational DB's. I think this definition fits better than the implied purely unrelational DB.
