I tend to like the DNS approach as it is supposedly non-commercial and non-state operated, but again you have to place your trust in a group of people you do not know (I have never met one of the root signers before), so you have no way to

I think ultimately you end up having to have a web of trust, but this assumes that the devices of the people in your web have not been compromised (backdoored apps and/or crypto libs).

RFC 6844 defines a DNS record (CAA) which supposedly allows you to restrict which CA's are allowed to issue a certificate for your domain. Of course, this is on the honor basis. https://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc6844

I was waiting for this so I could use Signal on my BlackBerry Z30 (running BB10 with Android compatibility), but I have since swapped over to Android as there were just too many things missing. Shame, I really miss the hub. I guess I can bu

What are the addresses of the IPv6 resolvers? Edit: the resolver at 80.80.80.80 has ipv6 connectivity since I was able to resolve a dns record on a domain with only ipv6 authoritative servers. The queries originated from 2a00:ec8:400:ff04::

I have a Yubikey 4, a Plug Up key (pu1.fr/sk though seems to be awol) and a Fidesmo nfc card for my phone. Annoyingly the nfc card works fine with github, but Google says it is not supported on my device. I hope that someone adds suppo

I got as far as plugging in the key, and then it said "Windows companion devices are disabled on your system. Contact your system administrator." My computer is a standalone desktop, not connected to a domain. Edit: If you run int

Thanks for sharing but unfortunately when I try to access it I just get prompted to create a new project. Maybe Google doesn't like people sharing their own projects.

That's great, but when I try to use a NFC FIDO U2F key with my Google account, it says "Security Keys are not support on your device." The same key on the same device works just fine on Github (running Chrome for Android).

Ironically, I have an NFC-enabled FIDO U2F card that works in Github on Chrome for Android, but when I try to use it with my Google account, it says "Security Keys are not supported on your device."

I thought there were supposed to be registry rules preventing similar looking names to be registered as an idna. I guess not.

The linux tools seem to rely on a custom version of unixODBC. There is a binary rpm on the microsoft repo, but no source rpm. This seems to be contrary to the unixODBC license.

This sounds an awful lot like OpenID (2). What makes it different? My OpenID login (aka XRI i-name) is "=chris.hills" and works on sites that support it.
