Oh gosh, that is so awesome to hear! I love that it's worked so well for you! Native mobile app! Absolutely have thought about it in the past, and will absolutely be thinking about it a little later on this year as we tune our roadmap.

Sure thing! Thanks for asking. We're closed to new signups now while we wrap up the last bit of feature parity from the old app (and make sure all is working smoothly for our current subscribers), but would love to have you check it ou

I run one, a minimalist personal finance app. It's about 11 years old at this point. I built it up as my full-time gig and ran it initially for about six years. At that point: A) I had hired someone part-time to do customer support; B)

Have you ever tried Twitter lists? I find that having separate streams for "irl friends", "professional network", "people I might want to hire", etc. makes it easy to dip in, get a sense of what's up with

Every app will be different, but I found (at first) that doing support myself, and doing a light "first principles postmortem" on every email that came in was a good way to drive support down over time. Essentially asking "wh

Still looking through the various elements of this, but this is really impressive. Would taxes be incorporated in the "annual costs" box?

A few things. I wouldn't say these if I didn't think you had the capacity to listen and learn. 1. Your tone is excessively combative for Hacker News. If you're put off by my saying that, ask yourself what a non-combative way

Pretty shitty to have absolutely zero keyboard interactivity on that page. Tabbing gets you … the NYT homepage, a bunch of YouTube videos — which you can't even see on the screen — and a "privacy project" link of some sort.

Unfortunately, we're not there yet in California, either. I worked at one of the most progressive / women-friendly companies in San Francisco, and as of last year, only 34.3% of our technical roles were filled by women (company si

Even if it's including annual contracts in the 2019 numbers, 1,000% growth per year — all bootstrapped — is great. Congrats on that!

It's fallacious to presume that — because gender, sex, race, etc. shouldn't impact peoples' opportunities — that we should treat is as though it doesn't impact them. This is a good article on the concept: https:

2vw would be a reasonable substitution, as it creates a dynamic margin, based on the screen's "view width". Smaller screens → smaller margins.
