>Pretty obvious patent trolling Not really. The patent was filed in 2000. Approved in 2007. It hasn't changed hands. The company makes software. Believe it or not, this is the US system working as intended. An obvious troll is a pat

This is hating the player, not the game. The only way to win is not to play. Relocate to a country with no software patents. I hear Estonia is great. Do all your filing online. Be a remote working foreign contractor for your own company :P

>Lee alleges that she was slapped in the face by a drunk male co-worker "for no apparent reason. It seems like having drunk co-worker is the problem here. Why does Google allow drinking at work? That seems like a really bad idea.

Mostly because Apple has legions of fanatics which are well established here. Apple gets criticism, you just don't get to see it unless you change your prefs to show flagged/dead posts. It's ironic, because Apple fans were pa

I would assume a legal filing would call it what it is: illegal discrimination. I don't trust ARS to get these things right.

Plausible deniabilty. Google will claim the illegal activity was due to the management of the recruitment company and not direct orders. And ARS puts illegal in scare quotes. Shameful.

For this to be a problem, you first have to commit a crime. Simple fix: don't commit crimes.

My Nexus 5 still runs for a week on battery. I believe Apple shipped low quality batteries as part of the planned obsolescence. It's like committing two bugs. By themselves, they aren't a problem, but together, they open an NSA ba

That happens all the time too, and I'm sure Apple is no exception. Want to score that big NSA storage contract? Pony up your HDD firmware... for "security assurances." Suddenly, NSA has exploits for all 7 major HDD manufactur

Google doesn't use something like SonarQube I guess. That's full of metrics like "fixed x bugs, improved code quality y%, reduced SQALE technical debt to z." I can't say I blame author for leaving Google. So called

I've verified that antibiotic creme and bandage work better than bandage for myself. I understand ~10% have allergic reactions. Are you optimizing for a corner case?
