I still haven't found a way to beat markdown in a private git repo. It's certainly more friction than using apple notes, which I used to use, but in an extreme long term view, markdown plaintext files will still be accessible if A

Yes! I can't wait until enough people are using the version of Safari that has html5 date input support. We have a big dumb custom date input that we can just completely throw away at that point and delegate to the browser.

This plus Safari desktop support for html5 date and datetime inputs will mean that soon date input and handling will be a lot less of a pain in the ass. I'm jealous of the young devs who will never even know how stupid js dates used to

Quite a lot of stuff in that new UI looks directly pilfered from apple. And "you can run android apps" sounds like a direct copy of macOS running iPad apps. Even the (in windows' case, completely nonsensical) decision to cent

These people are annoyed because they know all the other hardware is terrible. They want the good hardware but don't want the software that it comes with. Essentially they just wish Apple were a completely different company.

I don't mind it on macOS because of keyboard shortcuts, but I desperately want my refresh and share buttons back in the iOS version of Safari. Pull down to refresh is great if you're already at the top of the page, but when you&#x

That's why we millennials famously don't have to go to college to get union jobs that can support a family of four or more on a single income with guaranteed retirement.

Sure, but a program like jq will essentially throw a type error if you try to pipe it stuff that isn't in a format it can do something with. Generally speaking you're not going to get silent errors when you try to extract formatte

This kind of goes against the fundamental nature of bash/Unix, no? Everything is text, and every program does a small text manipulation thing well. Also what would be the type of a command like `echo '{"foo": "bar&q

Just put markdown in a private git repo. There are good markdown editors (and git clients) for desktop and mobile. Much more portable and less reliant on some specific software.
