This is a strawman argument. To see why, lets compare with Facebook. How much money does it cost to develop API servers to deal with apps which use Facebook sign in? How much money does it cost to run those API servers in a performant manne

For justice, outcomes matter. This is why there is a difference between "attempted murder" and actual murder. Yes, both are punished, but the actual outcome does matter. Therefore, the distinction between a flashbang and an incend

I completely understand the argument here, but the problem is that there is no other option. I think that there is a middle ground here if Apple allowed users or apps (i.e. a secondary app store) to install other apps without going through

To be fair, there isnt much content to this post other than an inflammatory remark ("he is almost moronically ignorant of basic economics") and some graphs which can be summarized by "tax rate is offset by growth rate".

Reproducible builds also tend to create isolation. I.e. if I compile one C file, change another, the compilation of the second one usually doesnt affect the first. This is useful when trying to debug code. E.g. I can add print statements to

The main problems I've seen with cooperative threading (aka fibers) are threefold: 1. You need to decide how much stack space to allocate to a fiber beforehand. If you go over this limit, you will segfault. 2. Thread local storage does

The problem is that you want to be able to abandon work (e.g. due to new data coming in that invalidated the previous data). So, what you need is to go back to the last complete render and start applying your changes from there. If there we

React isnt the one mandating how its used. It can be used in the way that the GP is talking about, but you can also keep the data entirely separate. Redux et al do exactly that. The main thing that the GP is missing is that, like with video
