I actually prefer http://cheeaun.github.com/hnmobile/ over any native app on my Android. It's fast, pretty and hasn't let me down yet.

There's the AGG (Allgemeines Gleichbehandlungsgesetz) in Germany. It's enough to not include the feminine form of a job title or feminine pronouns in a job advertisement to sue the company after a rejection because of discrimination if you

Definitely true for the legal situation in Germany. An early rejection can be enough for a compensation payment of three gross salaries. It's actually a common practice for some to apply on jobs with completely under-qualified resumes and s

This is what I thought. CSS for example grew so large that it often doesn't feel like the right tool anymore. That's why preprocessors like Sass, Less and Stylus are so popular. Trying to combine everything into one language is a really har

This looks really interesting. I'm interested to see how their license choice works out. The server is AGPL-licensed while the drivers are under Apache 2.0. This should at least avoid the issues we all know from libmysqlclient.

I recently switched to Fedora on my desktop, because I wanted to fiddle around with systemd. Coming from Unity, I really enjoyed how snappy it is. And for the rest, I spend most of my time either in my browser or the terminal, so there's no

I use this script to automatically update to the latest stable (test-green) Chromium build: https://gist.github.com/2049083 It actually just downloads and unpacks the latest version and keeps a backup of the previous release, but I found

An info on the site itself when to use this, would be quite helpful. For example, I recently generated a self-signed SSL certificate for local development where this would have been handy. You should not use this for anything production rel

I know, and I'm using it for this, but the previous dialog was just way better and user-friendly. It had large previews and descriptions while the new tweak tool only has some uncommented options in a drop-down menu.

Interesting. I can't really tell how fast Chrome starts up, because it's starts in the background when my desktop environment loads and I'm on an SSD. But that would in fact be a good indicator for bloat.

I think this still depends on the distribution. Fedora, for example, still contains a freetype version with the hinting patch disabled. You need to install freetype-freeworld from a third party repository to enable it. You're right, though.

The next sentence ruins it though: "Nobody loves Java but it is the easiest language to recruit for if you're targeting the JVM." Recruiting for Go is not nearly as easy as for Java.
