The files under `/data/data/[pkgname]` are only readable by the corresponding application. Encrypting them wouldn't add any security as the key for that cache would also be stored on the device.

That's exactly the kind of tool I'd love to see in 2015. Not only but in particular for Haskell development. nix seems to gain traction to set up your dev environment, but it's still pretty clunky to use at this point.

And there are also tons of reasons for the responsive solution. It all depends on your requirements and use cases. I don't think there's way to unconditionally say that one is better than the other at the moment.

That's simply a question of demand and resources required. This is certainly not a trivial task that requires engineers building it. If more people would voice these concerns it probably something Swiftkey would consider.
