I agree, unless someone can point to anything Apple has ripped out or deactivated in WebKit. Apple seems to have been pretty open with Mobile Safari. The most closed thing I can think of is when they only enabled their faster JS engine for

The Play framework ( http://www.playframework.org/ ) is a good example of how things can be done better with Java. None of the bloat or XML config, just a productive set of APIs to work with. It seems to mostly try to stay out of your way.

I'm sure they do plan for interruption, but with magsafe you invite it, in a sense. Especially on a portable device. You're probably right that the physics of the magnet don't make it as useful. That makes me wonder how thoroughly Apple has

Simple: it carries data. If the power cord on your laptop is yanked off for a minute it's usually not a big deal. If you disconnect the iOS device cable you could interrupt a data transfer. There is a higher risk to disconnection.

Done this way, it could easily come off feeling like a bait and switch. As a potential employee it would harm my opinion of the company unless it was clear enough in the requirements that you do Java dev but want a more rounded individual.

For iOS you have to provision the device and then sign the app as part of the build process. For the Playbook, you only sign the app so there are fewer things to go wrong. The tools run from the command line, but work well if you follow the

I think it all comes down to lack of polish. Even in the early days, the iPhone SDK was leagues above the Playbook SDK in terms of polish. My personal anecdote is that the tools only run on 64 bit Macs but I could find no mention of that in

Even if these classifications made sense, I think most programmers are some blend of the ideas behind each group. As a programmer I switch between all of these modes as necessary.
