I think it is a bit cheeky of them. They promoted the usage of masks and distancing in 600 villages totalling 350,000 people and observed the results (mask wearing plus distancing) in mosques (by sampling, not by checking each individual).

That is the most manipulative ad I have ever seen, straight out of some brainwashing manual. Any goverment should stay clear from using propaganda. This comes down to means and ends and the elitist thought that "we" know better th

Same here. Video meetings used to be the exception but since last year it is rare that anyone uses sound only meetings. One thing that annoys me with video is that I try really hard to look directly into the camera but fail miserably and i

Maybe this is a mix of a couple of items in the list but when I read about the stacks in use nowadays I wonder if these would not fit the waste bucket. For example, there is a team I know of that is building a web application that serves ma

For me was YouTube playing the same add every few minutes on almost every video I watched (some tooth paste ad) on the iPad. I started by downloading the videos on a PC and watching them later from my NAS but in the end I gave up on YouTube

Isn't it easier and safer to vaccinate the teachers? There are less of them and they are of the age where the current vaccines are considered safe.

Because reviewing is difficult, time consuming and, if you want anonimity of the reviewer, needs a third party to select the reviewer and coordinate the operation. I am not sure if most people are aware but peer reviewing is not paid. The j

They probably get them in a few weather events every year. I lived in a place in the South of Portugal that, on paper, gets has much rain as, say, Berlin. The catch is that it would fall over 3 or 4 very strong downpours causing flooding an

There are already some DC lines out there. I remember reading about one run starting in South Africa that runs north and it approached some multiple of the wave length of regular AC which would create too much radition (like an antena does)

The article actually says that you should insure only if it creates financial distress. So, in the case you describe they should insure for the floor flooding eventuality but not for the dog ruining the carpet (as a cheaper example).
