One thing in the blog that is not true is that you can only inherit from a single layer. You can use multi-stage builds to grab & blend layers: https://docs.docker.com/develop/develop-images/multistage-bu... .

I moved from Parcel (v1) to ViteJS because it felt a bit faster. Is there a performance or other type comparison between Parcel and some of the newer bundlers? (I.e, vite, snowpack, etc..)

Dive visibility is actually quite hard to forecast (at least in the areas I dive) and I don't know if there have been empirical studies on it. Anecdotally I find it's best when the wind is offshore and there is low tidal movement.

This is great, I'd love to have dive visibility predictions for my webapp based on location: https://divedb.net/ The challenge I've had is the same, the data format that a lot of these sources provide is in "

UO ruined other MMOs for me, it allowed too much freedom. In the early days, before trammel/felucca split you could attack anyone and take their gear. It really felt like actions had permanence, and you had an effect in the world. I t

I've been using vite for building a new web app and have enjoyed the experience so far. One thing I'd love to be able to do is to do the classic thing of rendering things mostly as html templates on server side, but serving up JS

I think maybe the ZeroMQ rust crate as a case study is something that is non-trivial: https://github.com/erickt/rust-zmq

ZeroMQ does allow you to register file descriptors on an event queue, which if you dig into the code you'll find tmq using mio to accomplish this.

I've implemented bindings for ZeroMQ with Tokio in rust ( https://github.com/cetra3/tmq ). I found ZeroMQ great for interop with Python/Java if you just want some simple cross-process broadcast/task manag

I've found rust really helps out with this, enforcing some strict rules around types. I had to implement a `Lowercase` type which is just a string that can only be lowercase (for case insensitive searches). After implementing standard
