I stream music and browse the web (including FB) almost every day of the week and I've never hit my 2GB data cap. My 16 GB hard drive is more than enough.

This is certainly true of Americans in "upper middle class" culture, but how true is it for the rest? I went to an average / below average American high school, and most of my high school peers are still living in my hometown

The problem with these types of discussions is that everyone has a different idea of what "socialism" and "capitalism" mean. Scandinavia can be very capitalistic. For example, they perform quite well on the Heritage Foun

I don't think this impact would be large at all for industries that approximate perfect competition like raw food. Price of such goods should approximate marginal cost. Marginal cost would only increase if workers in these industries c

This survey was in the US, though, where the term "software engineer" isn't regulated in any way. You can become one just by impressing someone with your Github profile: no other accreditation or experience necessary.

I think the idea is that accountability to voters helps keep things in line. If you're in a situation where you believe a natural monopoly to be inevitable, it's not necessarily flawed reasoning.

I'm sure there are lots of reasons, but here's one: if you don't differentiate between hotel zoning and residential zoning in a tourist-heavy city, the rental and hotel markets would start to merge together. This means in bot

I'm another South Florida to Bay Area transplant here, and I gotta say, I hate the Bay Area's weather. The winters are cold and rainy (an awful combination), and summer evenings are way too chilly. I'd take Florida weather an

For two adults, >0 children, I think childcare should really be excluded from costs. It's not accurate for most any family in that position. Though I understand figuring out the second parent's income is difficult, I think it&#

I think this is true for a non-trivial amount of the younger generation. I know a decent number of (relatively affluent) people in their early 20s who simply do not have and do not plan on getting a driver's license. I have one, but I
