Yes; insofar as maximal perf is a desirable default characteristic, `0.2` must continue to be a regular decimal value (technically, a double in Clojure). We've already been down the path of having to extensively hint Clojure code to get th

Things get a lot easier when you're working with tools that help you out, even just a little. Clojure here, FWIW: (+ 0.1M 0.2M) => 0.3M That 'M' suffix denotes a BigDecimal, which provides for arbitrary-precision decimal math (which Clo

Saying you're lazy seems absurd on the face of it. :-) But: ideas mean nothing without execution. What if the great ideas are only offered as git pull requests? Or are based on Clojure 1.1.0, but the author is too lazy to do the work to reb

Fair enough re: #2. Given that, it's not at all surprising that the ruby and python folk have done rvm and pip (which, in a faux-spectrum, is a big shift towards what maven et al. provide in the java world). Of course, it's the debian maint

That's hilarious. Users of Maven and CPAN represent a "critical mass of small-scale developers"? Holy shit. A similar idea was voiced a few days ago, specifically regarding Java libraries ( http://fnords.wordpress.com/2010/09/24/the-real-pr

Heh, and most LLCs/S-Corps won't bother looking for Angel/VC investment. ;-) That said, AFAIK converts (which seem to be getting popular these days, at least among sensible angels) are perfectly compatible with typical S corp structure.

There's a lot of reasons why Palm didn't make it as an independent company, and as much as hipster-geeks enjoy the web standards love and other hackery, WebOS is one of those reasons. I'm a geek, but when it comes to mobile stuff I'm fundam

The github-hosted Maven repo process I described works, but it's far from the ideal of just having a proper repo . I'd like to see Sonatype's OSS repo become the obvious choice (they certainly know what they're doing in that arena, and ha
