In terms of durability, the 10 year old ThinkPad will exceed just about any modern laptop. Size/weight is different story though. Just depends on priorities.

If you define Web 2.0 as content being created by users and using AJAX or something similar to create interactivity on websites, then I'd say Web 2.0 was enormously successful - Facebook, Twitter, etc. fit that definition. I guess the

I've thought about trying to get a remote role for a company in AU/NZ and living in Japan that way, then you're "only" off by 1-4 hours. Better be good at waking up early though.

High quality scissors, even with constant use, can easily last that long or even longer. Source: I used to work as a tailor. In fact many people in that industry prefer to use older German-made scissors as they are in many ways better than

I strongly disagree with skipping the original ending. I'm personally on the side of people who love it, but even for those who don't I think it's very interesting and absolutely worth watching. I'd say watch the origina

I agree completely, I watched the original without knowing much about it going in and thought the ending was incredible. The ending of EoE on the other hand is way too self indulgent to me. I don't know if it's because I was young

For what it’s worth, I think Antwerp is a much nicer place to live than Brussels. I’d say they’re almost polar opposites. A lot of industries just don’t exist in Antwerp but if your work situation is sorted then rent is cheap, everything is

Genuinely curious, who is the audience for this? Large iOS dev shops who want hardware to run builds on and don't mind that you need to reserve them for at least 24 hours at a time?

I recently switched back to Firefox after using Chrome and Edge as my main browsers for the past couple of years. So far: * Performance feels better. Both in terms of being more lean in everyday use, and in not having random issues where CP

To anyone who is interested in this stuff I would strongly recommend the book “Skunk Works” by Ben Rich. Full of interesting history about stealth planes, and a masterclass on how to run a ragtag company.

I recently bought a 16/1TB Air over a similarly specced 14” Pro. I can see the advantages of the Pro, but the Air also has things going for it - smaller and lighter, better battery life, 100% silent in absolutely every use case, no mov

Django/Python is the first "real" thing I ever learned while teaching myself to become a developer (through Harvard's CS50web course), and I found it very easy to learn and pleasant to work with. It has its quirks, but w

Looks tempting... two questions: 1. How's the keyboard? I'm specifically wondering about this because at the taller aspect ration the screen is narrower than that of an iPhone 5. 2. How's the battery life? It's obviously

They’re amazing. I picked them up a few months ago based on a random recommendation online, and couldn’t be happier. They’re 90% as satisfying to hit as Blues, but the noise level is similar to an Apple keyboard.

I would consider myself to be pretty far from a "Grandma"-type user. Nonetheless my Backblaze account only uses about 300GB. I pay for my mom's Backblaze as well. No idea how much she uses, but almost certainly way less than

Some 20+ years ago my dad had a Toshiba Portégé (no idea what the model number was, but it had a P3-500) that didn’t weigh more than a current MacBook Air, yet was a competent laptop. They were truly ahead of their time in some ways. I wond

You're actually right. MacBook Air M1: 49.9Wh | MacBook Pro 16" 2019: 100Wh The 16" MacBook Pro is rumored to have double the performance CPU cores, and either double or 4x the GPU cores. So for tasks that are strictly GPU bo
