Not sure if games count as software but if they do - Factorio. I don't play much these days but I'm still utterly stunned how a relatively small, humble team of developers can build something so robust and performant. Granted, I&#

I can echo your positive experience but the effect this has on people around you should also be taken into account. On MDMA you're going to want to talk to everybody about everything and that can lead to awkward situations once you

Pinning image tags is only useful if the upstream doesn't keep retagging images. I've had a case in the past where a vendor has retagged an image and broken something. Maybe we should even be pinning to a specific layer/check

Who knows, maybe he doesn't. Psychopaths have children. Maybe he will find himself backed into a corner and will want to go out with a bang so he at least goes into the history books. Megalomania is not to be underestimated. Getting so

Yeah, the await syntax is just bizarre. One of the worst eyesores of any languages I've personally encountered. An await macro or function would have sufficed but because Rust is still mainly a hipster language with a hipster community

As another reply touches on, there's a developmental process to romance. A guy in his thirties dating for the first time will have a seriously hard time because of his inexperience. I'm not saying that it's impossible at that

I'm the most whiny opinionated person on the planet and even I find this stupid. Why would you care about what code looks like on other people's screens? If it works for them, it works for them. Christ. I hate this industry some

gokrazy is a very cool project and something I'd like to see more of. It's not a unikernel per se but it shares the idea of packaging your code and the OS together and shipping it as one. My dream would be a pure Go userspace libr

What should the expectations be then? I don't think 6 hours is an unreasonable timeframe to produce a Matrix bot in any language (we're not counting esolangs of course). It's a POST request, I mean come on. Maybe a GET long p

Here's a story: I once did a hackathon with a few acquaintances for a few hours where our goal was to write a simple Matrix bot. Given that we were always chatting about Rust, a couple chose it for their bot. I chose Python. My basic b

No wonder developers complain about sluggishness and running out of memory when they're literally using a headless web browser to write code. Sublime Text works brilliantly. I can have tens of projects, hundreds of files open and the m

Completely agree with Drew here. Nothing pisses me off more than seeing an issue I care about or raised closed because it was "inactive". Just why? If issues went away by themselves we'd all be out of jobs. All these bots do
