Why wouldn’t Google just publish a database of URLs? Even just a CSV file? Infuriating.

That's exactly what pisses me off about it. The government could have at least devised a technical solution to verify the age of people privately. Data breaches happen all the time, do they just not care about the consequences when mil

I don't know why a car company is investing in digital assets and its CEO hasn't been flamed by the shareholders for it.

You should kick up a major fuss. Call the media. Write a blog post. These companies should not be the moderator of what is socially acceptable.

Thanks for your reply. We use BuildKit's cache + SSH socket mounts in most of our Dockerfiles so this was a blocker I came up against immediately when trying Dagger. I'd rather not share my username here but there's a convers

Very recently. It may run on BuildKit but it doesn't expose it as a build runtime. IIRC Dagger implements its own way of building images that lacks BuildKit features and doesn't work with Dockerfiles.

I have to disagree about Act, my experience is that it only works for extremely simple workflows, and even then it’s easy to run into differences between Act and GitHub Actions. I’ve raised many bugs but AFAIK there’s like one guy working o

I tried out Dagger hoping to tidy up some of our CI pipelines. I really wasn’t impressed to be honest. I initially just wanted to build a basic Docker image using BuildKit and even that was nightmare that the Dagger guys basically told me j

Interested to see where they move. Switzerland has been considered the standard base of operations for privacy companies. Many companies including Proton used it as part of their branding.

Kids play a part in trapping you in that lifestyle though. If you’re fortunate enough to have a job where you can save money, as long as you don’t have kids you still have the option of just packing your bags and pissing off somewhere for a

With this kind of speed you could build a large thinking stage into every response. What kind of improvement could you expect in benchmarks from having say 1000 tokens of thinking for every response?

Enterprise security is cargo cult to the max. You can run 10 different dependency scanners, static analysers, AI analysers, it doesn’t prove shit. You can be SOC1, SOC2, SOC1337, whatever and still have the most moronic bugs. The same ones

I’m not even “rich” and yet thinking of moving myself and my assets somewhere else like Dubai. Why should I pay into a system I get virtually nothing out of? Furthermore my country took my freedom of movement in the EU away. That’s another

Banks already have too many restrictions on what you can do with your own money. At some point you’ve got to accept it’s a user problem. Instead of creating more restrictions, educate people. Run ads where young and old people alike will se

Over the lifetime of CL that’s not very much. Docker pulls isn’t a great metric either because images tend to get pulled repeatedly in CI pipelines.

I’m feeling limited by the tools right now. The software for using LLMs is an incongruent mess. For example, how can I have a global system prompt shared across all the apps I use my OpenRouter key with? I can’t, I have to set it in each ap

Your comment reminds me of the "housing economic theory of everything." I watched this video a while back about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ZxzBcxB7Zc It used to take one income to run a household. Now it

There’s still 20 years of projects using everything that became before uv. They didn’t upgrade the moment uv came into existence. Data science-land still uses other rubbish too.

Even if it does, nothing will change. They've been trying to push through this legislation for 10 years. They don't care what the citizens want - their need to spy takes priority.

I rarely see this talked about - that H1B inherently creates a power imbalance in favour of the employer. It enables them to stomp on workers’ rights and pay less. All according to plan I’m sure.

Apparently they are, which is crazy to me. Zed agent mode shows modified hunks and you can accept/reject them individually. I can't imagine doing it all through the CLI, it seems extremely primitive.
