The concept is flawed. You can never trust a 3rd party to not read your data; the only option is to run your own server. Also for passwords you don't want the data to be permanent. Something like this would be better: https:/

The 'one of Child or Node' isn't really an issue since you probably shouldn't expose the members of the struct (the tree should be accessed via methods). But I agree with your point about containers.

Although I'd prefer to have generics, the issue isn't obvious. Generics can be really hard to understand. For example here's a HashMap in Scala: class HashMap[A, B] extends AbstractMap[A, B] with Map[A, B] with MapLike[A, B,

Without generics you'll need to use an alternative approach. As you said you can use interface{} everywhere. Another option is to create an interface that does what you need. Checkout "sort" for an example: http://

His take on Larry Wall is terribly uncharitable: First: Larry is insane. This means more to me than anything in the language itself. I prefer my heroes to have a firm grasp on sanity. I was never a fan of Don Quixote. Larry says God t

They, of course, would still work, but the great unwashed masses would sit on their backsides and take the money. The counter argument would be the existence of industries that people will already not work in. For example Italy has

I think in the end this wouldn't work. It'd play out something like this: A certain percentage of the population would stop working entirely since they no longer need to. (Particularly when politicians push the basic income amount

Right. I'm just saying I think the scope ought to be different. The 'x' in the loop should be a new variable each time because its not really 'a common variable between each of those functions'. In the for i :

Another gotcha with for loops: scoping is a little weird. xs := []int{1,2,3} for _, x := range xs { go func() { fmt.Println(x) }() } That prints `3 3 3` not `1 2 3`. You can fix it like this: for i := range xs {

Create Space has automated systems that check technical things (like images being in the right format). I don't think there's much of any review of content. It only took a few hours to get approved once I submitted it.

This post has some bizarre conclusions. Like this: My theory is, if the language designers can’t write hello world safely, what hope do the rest of us have? It's not at all obvious to me that dumping your program's stdout

Infant mortality rates can also be quite deceptive in that they aren't measured the same way between countries. "Even the use of the most fundamental term, “live births,” greatly distorts infant-mortality rates, because often the infants wh

FWIW I've found precisely the opposite. I ended up having to roll my own lxc wrapper. Maybe in a few months docker will be there, but not right now.

What about Texas (with lots of job growth) or North Dakota (with really low unemployment)? There's been mass migration back to the South too. Maybe (NY, CA, DC, etc..) are dying, and maybe they'll bring the rest of the country with them, bu

Yes the GC has a large impact on this and yes C to Go inter-op has a heavy penalty. Memcachier did a talk at a Go meetup where they discussed a custom slab allocator they built to workaround some of these problems. Like C, Go is compiled to

There's a middle road here. Serve the assets via django, but have a reverse proxy sitting in front of your web server which caches all the subsequent requests for the same resource. (That's why getting the headers right is so important)
