I would only say that I can't imagine that Last.fm lost any users due to the TC story. The intersection of the users of Last.fm and those that would read, believe and act on this TC story are probably pretty scant. That said, this recap in

It's funny how this story pops up now and then on different sites. It has a 3 year recycle rate, hopping from geek aggregator to geek aggregator. It is a great book though, my wife found ours at a thrift store in palo alto, for somthing lik

This kind of thing happens every 6 or so months, the journalists (if you can call them that) love a fight. It is all they know. They seem to live in a world that only routes packets to the 'winner'

Shawn is the author of Repo, Gerrit 2 and we use those tools and jgit quite a bit for distributing and developing Android. He's pretty awesome. (works for me, I'm proud to say)

A previous poster got it right, we all have androids, and the calender program works fine, as does the email alerts. As a side note, the radishes (that's what they were called) we're tied into google calender and worked really well.

It can be discouraging, but move on or try to out-execute your competitor. Either way, not doing anything about an idea means you should be happy to see someone else do it for you. More ideas will come.

And by that you mean the antenna's aren't as exposed/well placed as a user would wish. Antenna placement in cell phones is a high art, and when you consider a modern phone supports a huge number of frequencies and protocols in which it has

No, it wouldn't. I've been at companies that took money from large company investment arms (in my case, intel and idg) and it didn't really change things either way. Well, a little on the positive side from a connections standpoint and a lo

We actually do a/b testing. I don't work with the ui folks much, but we're always running tests like this. It's why you sometimes see some design/functionality feature appear for like one search and then poof you don't see for a while if

So the problem with this kind of reasoning is that you deny what happens to companies after they are acquired. Look at Keyhole, which became Google earth. This was a small company in Maryland with a small audience of paid, mostly government

Not speaking for Google, but I'd also point out that newcomers and competitors can experiment with search (think ranking, ui, etc) in very interesting ways. For all the teasing that cuil received, the did try something pretty interesting wi

Probably because suggesting LA for a person who wants public transport is like suggesting they move to the maldives if they want great, low latency, bandwidth for their data center.
