I love the idea. My music is now 50% cloud only, 50% on disk. I mean, its 100% in the cloud, i just have local files for half available. Ive been thinking about self hosting some music provider thingy (or even just supporting ssh via my dyn

Dude YES. This stuff was maddening in rust. “How many links to GitHub issues will the compiler fire at me today” was a sincere feeling. I think it’s much better these days, but you still get em doing async work

Agreed. There!s uproar over coding interviews, which makes no sense to me. We give easy peasy code reviews to smoke check claimed skills. 4 of 5 candidates do absolutely terribly on very easy stuff, relative to their claimed skillset. No, o

Can you speak more to the “not caring at all” bit? I believe you, but how did you engage them? Did you end up publishing your work eventually? forbetterscience seems like a good idea, but the writing style, the images, and even the about pa

Everybody loves a good DIY e-ink dashboard. I've tried to make my system somewhat easily consumable for those who have wanted to dabble. It's still somewhat early and basic, but it works, and is in a good spot to build/extend

Kind of interesting. However bad design isnt a guaranteed attr for pairwise coupling. I get that its a strong indicator, but its not even mentioned that some systems force this, and some designs its assistive. E.g. - .mli, .ml - .h, .c - ty

Power to ya, but shucks, I’m personally not super aligned with the “why do this” section. Seems like various other deployment topologies could feasibly work with notably better tradeoffs.

I searched for the Fenn treasure [1] a tiny bit, unsuccessfully. We thought the clues pointed to a spot in northern NM. Turns out it was Wyoming! If anyone is interested, I advise against buying Fenn’s book(s). I figured they’d help me find
