Hi- Cofounder of Expo here. Was really fun to work with the Repl.it team on this. This came out really well. It's such a good way for novices to learn to make mobile apps.

We think the products are so different that people won't get confused but if it turns out to be a problem, we'll figure something out. Sketch the design tool is great. We use it.

We thought it was such a different product that people wouldn't be confused at all. But if it turns out to be a problem, we'll figure something out. Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks! The magical feeling from seeing things update right away after every keystroke is my favorite part of it too. We'll keep working on making the flow of navigating to your sketch on your phone as smooth as possible. Certainly som

Thank you so much! The drag and drop components list in Sketch was partly inspired by Deco. Keep up the good work :)

React Native or something like it is almost definitely the future. It's totally unreasonable to write two totally separate copies of your app using languages that take a while to build and compile. React Native basically solves this an

Hey! Some people have set up some stuff for doing ClojureScript with Expo. https://docs.expo.io/versions/v14.0.0/guides/using-clojuresc... You can find them in the #clojurescript channel in the Expo community

(I work on Expo) CRNA doesn't use our app building service (which is free) or integrate with it, though you can take a CRNA project and use it with the rest of our tools like the app building service. Also, CRNA does support ejecting w

Hi- Exponent exposes all of the React Native built-in APIs which encompass a lot of what you're asking about. For example, here is the Clipboard API: https://facebook.github.io/react-native/docs/clipboard.html

Some of the biggest differences are: (1) Exponent is a free open source project, and we don't try to charge developers to use it. (Titanium is open source now but they try to make money by charging people for premium features--which is

I think it should? If you had Linux running on it and a monitor and keyboard hooked up, I can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work. If there are any problems, they would probably be easy to fix. The thing I'd be most wo

Exponent apps have URLs, so if you have the URL for an Exponent app, you can just download the Exponent developer app from the iOS App Store / Play Store and then open the URL. Ex. Try opening https://getexponent.com/@e

For Linux, you have to build it from source. https://github.com/exponentjs/xde#build-from-source It's usually pretty smooth to do so.

The apps in the App Store/Play Store support multiple versions of our SDK. The current versions support back through March. Not sure which SDK version the Pluralsight course is targeting. It might be easier to follow our docs here: ht

One thing that we do that we think is pretty cool is that we figured out a way to include multiple versions of our SDK (and React Native) in a single binary, so stuff you build with old versions will continue to work. Here are the docs for

What I'm working on -- along with a couple other people -- is Exponent, a way to make native iOS and Android apps by writing them just once in just JavaScript. It's based on React Native. https://getexponent.com/

You can think of it as kind of like Rails for React Native--Exponent takes care of a bunch of things for you that are a pain in the butt to setup, like push notifications. Facebook login, etc. Here's a 2 minute video that I think expla

React Native on Android has gotten way better over the last year. In general, Android phones just have worse performance than iPhones (even when they have better specs -- I'm not totally sure why) regardless of whether you're deal
