Even then, though, I'd still be very surprised if Google would respond to an offer of seat availability data from Southwest with "sorry, we won't let people search it unless you pay us".

Are you trying to draw a distinction between "prices" and "fares", or just "will likely" vs "will"?

Are you finding the same specific flights have different prices on the two services, or are you finding that Hipmunk is able to find flights that Google doesn't? (Disclaimer: I work for Google, on an unrelated project.)

I'd be very surprised if Google Flights wanted Southwest to pay for inclusion. It already lists Southwest flights with a note "Prices are not available for: Southwest. Flights with unknown prices are at the end of the list."

Let's take a specific scenario: * Person A composes some music, releases it as CC-NC * Person B uses that music as the background to a home video, uploads it to youtube It seems like B is following the CC-NC license? So then A goes

This post seems pretty confused to me. The idea is that you tell YouTube "I own this, people can't use it without my permission, but I'm ok with it as long as you give me a cut of the ad revenue". But with CC-licensed

The ads you see are generally the result of an auction. When you use Contributor it bids in that auction for you, and typically wins it for a small fraction of a cent. Publishers generally don't have to opt in: if you're a publis

Let's say you're using a cache server as a best-effort cache, and you take advantage of its ability to store complicated data structures. Your client implementation has a small bug with one of them, and ~1% of the time it sends s

That's at the very least a much harder change to roll out, since if things are broken after a new version of Redis comes out people will blame Redis for breaking things.

I don't see how the birthday paradox applies. If you pick a random IP under 127.0.0.0/8, then on average a website searching will take 1/2 of time required to check every IP sequentially.
