You don't really need something that complex. You can either: 1. Just don't answer any call if it's not in your address book, as I do if I'm not at a computer. 2. Do a Google search for the number, if your doctor, tailor

This might be somewhat true for this particular article, but please do not confuse that with functional-reactive-programming-like systems in general. I don't know RxSwift so will write in terms of ReactiveCocoa. 1. Apps are more than v

We spent, I'd say, over $1500 for our party at a company of 15. Yes, I would prefer a $100 bonus. The amount might decrease to the point that it's useless at larger companies due to economies of scale...

Company Christmas party = another night that I can't spend with my girlfriend, lifting or climbing at the gym, reading, working on open source... and anything else that isn't hanging out with increasingly intoxicated people.

Enough with the free snacks and parties. You know what I want as a perk? The company turns off at 5pm. That's it, no more work, go home, no exceptions. Company email shuts down, no access on your smartphone until 9am. Now that's

This is true for large open-source projects but there are plenty of µframeworks and tiny Unix-philosophy-following tools that don't need more than a Git(hub|lab) repository with the issue tracker enabled.

I'm surprised that people have managed to get through a CS program without learning C (or, at least, C++)! It seems to me that programming should be taught simultaneously in Haskell (or Lisp?) and C. - C teaches you how computers work.

Is that really a single crowd? It would seem like "PHP/Python/Ruby/Node" are separate from Swift (which is much more strict and is type/null-safe). Not sure where Go and Elixir would be sorted, but they feel le

All of the names in the selector are short and easy to read, there's just a lot of them. I don't even know what the method does or what any of the parameter types, but I can make what I'd assume is a fairly accurate guess:

There's a question of what the AI is doing - makes more sense with an FPS: 1. The AI is a program running on the computer, so the input is the state of the game. This is basically just an aimbot, and would be trivial to do - just make

In the "go to the same parties" sense, sure, but after work I hang out with my partner, not my coworkers. I've already spent 10 hours with them, that's less than I'll spend with her (not counting sleeping).
