Because knowing not to write a bubble sort or fizz buzz implementation in Modula-2 without googling for some language reference makes you so much better. SO is a part of a developers every-day life, like it or not. This is not the 90s anymo

Network most definitely, for checking requests. Using filtering there is very useful as it allows me to quickly toggle between All and Scripts / XHR.

So glad I am not the only one noticing the filter change. That additional click to display the filtering options that Chrome introduced really made me start using FF more and more for work. I think this dumbing-down approach Google is doing

You would still have to roll your own offline geocoder. From my experience with OSM and Oracle's Spatial Geocoder, getting accurate driving directions can be a very 'interesting' process.

I'm on 12.3 with KDE, the only problem so far was making it remember the dual-monitor setup I was using. Apart from that, all good. A nice improvement over Ubuntu 12.04 with which I had a lot more problems.
