Is it possible to do a similar construct in python? This is what I'm really after, a Lisp like ability to generate html, sql combined with the rest of the Python language. Perhaps I should be looking into ruby more? or a python parser? I'm

Eclipse, emacs and maven works for me. I use the emacs for making quick changes and often end up working within it. Still couldn't go without having eclipse along side though.

Appreciate the comment, this is why I come here :). I've been meaning to- and will, read PG's On Lisp. I saw the benefit in starting with Clojure being: the setup (basically nothing if you have a JVM installed) and the fact that application

Good point. However, using a guide such as Programming Clojure from the Pragmatic Bookshelf is a pretty quick way to try out some of the 'Lispy' concepts. I'm literally beginning the book so cannot comment further but it seems an accessible

A concept I took from the article was how interesting it is to see what people come up with using the API of what is at heart a simple service. I may be bias as this is my personal view of course :)

Not very detailed, it only touches on a few library's. The data access issue shouldn't be a huge issue if using the Django model anyway. Worse case scenario - you move to self hosting using the open source version (don't have the link handy

Interesting you say that. I'm fleshing out a design that uses a similar syntax - In python: (html, (body, (h1, "header one text") ) ) To me it's certainly not as painful as writing out html. I'm still working on it - hop

Haha, this actually sums up nicely what I was wanting to say. I'll add - Communities that have trust also have privacy, my friends don't need to know who I vote for or how much I make but thats no reason not to trust them.
