I don't think compete.com is all that accurate either. I saw some numbers on twitter.com and it reports around 30k uniques per month -- a little low for a site that gets a few million tweets a day. By comparison, quantcast.com reports twi

I'm crossing my fingers that Oct 22 will have a great release of windows 7 so that workplaces can finally upgrade. If they have another horrible release, then it's another 2 years of IE6 pain for us web developers!

You know, that's exactly how big companies treat bad PR. They'll just blame it on the employee, then fire the employee. The downside of Twestival is that it's all volunteers... sounds like the organizers need to man up and fire the volun

http://www.presdo.com has a much more powerful natural language time parser (that system handles all the timezones in the world) but they don't have a great api for extracting that info. It can't handle stuff like "seven hours before tom

That's sorta like a hotel renting a room... and if you overstay your rent, they throw you out the window. Sure it's their room, they're allowed to do anything they want with it, but I wouldn't want to be that guy thrown out the window eit

The YC confidence is sometimes even better than VC capital. One of my previous startups raised a round with first round capital, and I was the 4th employee there, but it didn't make us confident like YC does.

Spring MVC is arguable as old as Rails, but I haven't seen anything come close to frameworks in the dynamic language space. There's a reason why there's such a big community behind frameworks like Django & Rails. You won't find a comm

Don't look for a cofounder by stating the technical requirements -- that sounds like a job posting. If you want your technical founders to feel vested in the company, they'd prefer to hear what the company is aiming to do.

Well for startup school, there's limited seating, and high profile panel speakers. A founder dating session probably won't even attract 30 people if there's no indication of content.
