This gives me an idea: design a small robot to ride the donkey and steer it using, e.g., a carrot on a string.

I disagree. In an autonomous system, more sensors is almost always better, provided you have enough computing power to process the data. Having two sensors that disagree gives you much more information than if you had a single sensor with a

You can still steer and stop a car w/out power. It just takes a lot more force than you're used to.

I think the line you're referring to actually read "For social security and tax purposes - not for identification." As it was explained to me, it meant that the card itself was not a proof of identity, as opposed to something

I might just have to give up on using the internet if treestyle tabs stops working. I'll get a job on a farm or something and lead a simpler life.

This is really nice. If you are looking to expand, I would like to see more audio equipment included, such as synthesizers, mixers, and computer audio interfaces. I've recently been struggling somewhat with the difference between mono,

Why not just use a spline and leave the control points where they are as you traverse the curve? Once the path is planned there is no need to re-plan at every step—you can use your choice of line-following controller to minimize your distan

Thank you for writing this and linking the video. At first I thought, "ugh, I'll never buy a Christmas decoration again!" But on second thought, maybe this industry is helping bring people out of poverty. Then again, all that

Ah, they mean 20 percent of the vacuums sold this year. Since a vacuum is not something that gets replaced each year (or every 5 years even?), it will take quite a while for robots to reach 20 percent of all existing vacuums, if ever. Anecd

What would be the best time to buy the previous model of 15" MBP? The slight bump in processor speed doesn't make up for the loss in connectivity to me. I don't think I could live without magsafe power and an integrated SD ca

It looks like there's still a function button in the bottom left corner, so maybe that is used to switch the mode of the 'function strip.'

Sounds like the plot to a scifi novel: Scientists discover that so-called junk DNA contains physics equations, along with what appears to be coordinates to a distant star system with an Earthlike planet.

Wow that was mesmerizing. I'm surprised that all of the traces were drawn manually. I had always assumed that modern design software would do all of that tedious stuff for you. The creator of that video was answering questions on reddi

This sounds really cool. I am struggling trying to wrap my head around how a recommendation system could be accomplished without some kind of graph connecting things together. I'll be really interested to see how it turns out!

Yes this is in really poor taste. I'm sure it's very comforting to the deceased's family to know that safety features could have saved their life, had the angle of impact been different.

Ah nice, I had just seen a video of the Commando theme being played on the new pocket operators[1] and it reminded me of the Chipophone. No wonder it seemed familiar... [1] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihjcUuGttKU
