Seems like there's an opportunity to produce an open-source SpaceX compatible antenna that someone could build themselves. I wonder if at some point SpaceX could allow this on their network?

Any stories of people who made this kind of money from exporting power to the grid from a home solar and battery system?

I have a pair of those. I really like them except that they don't quite fit my ears and wearing them for more than a couple hours causes some soreness. If it weren't for that I'd probably wear them all the time. So, maybe tha

The author misses the point. The root of the problem is that electricity is not carbon free. What the electricity is used for is irrelevant. What the author suggests would be similar to saying, "let's stop climate change by minimi

The Semi charger will probably be in the megawatt range on account of the larger battery. What will it take to power a truck stop with 100 chargers? Nuclear reactor maybe?

Seems like this could be solved if the chargers were networked and programmed with a set group charge limit. If you are a charger, and you're the only charger actively charging, you get 100% of the limit; two chargers get 50% of the li

Something I've been trying to understand lately is Republicans' view of "Big Tech" as the new bogeyman. My impression is that Republicans are generally "business friendly", which can take on forms like a certai

I'm hoping the next generation will move off of TI-8x calculators and into things like Octave for grade school use. There was a point in my education where I had mastered my trusty TI-83; I knew the purpose of every single function and

There are diseases that you can recover from without developing an immunity; tetanus is an example. The vaccine generates a much greater immune response than the actual disease.

I've been wondering the same thing. How big of a computer would you need to accurately simulate an immune system? Or at least accurate enough to cut down on some of the tedious and time consuming work? Could something like this be buil

So there has been some discussion in recent years that plants may be intelligent in the sense that they are able to react to stimuli in their environment and actively adapt. There are a few notable experiments that can be interpreted as dem

I browsed the datasheet [1] for the BCM2711 processor and did not see an eMMC controller on this part. Assuming the SD card is connected by SPI which would explain why it's so slow. Also rules out eMMC. [1] https://datasheet
