The critical mass problem is only insurmountable for social media that seeks to connect people globally. Locally, you never notice this problem. For example, in your typical gaming clan Discord server, a tenement building's WhatsApp&#x

I think BeReal was too restrictive. Considering all the types of content on social media, very little of it is selfies. The goal of that platform is authenticity in a very narrow sense, which is a noble goal.

I wish someone made social media where everyone gets one post every day. Almost no person on this planet has more than one bit of news to share daily with their extended social network — probably not even the countries' leaders. When a

It’s normal for detention in such scenarios to take months in both the US and Germany. Since about 2001, it has been limited in the US to 180 days. In Germany, detention is reviewed every six months, and some people are granted exceptional

In the US, deportation takes months to years after someone is found guilty of an immigration offense. Detention is ordinarily limited to 180 days, and this has been true since about 2001. It even takes months to years in Germany, and detent

It’s not strictly a crime, but immigration/visa fraud is a “removable offence”. It is the law that a person committing it will be removed. Sometimes immediate removal is not possible and these people must be detained and housed. This i

Let's think about what shouting a message to the world does. First, you affect the stakeholders of the decision-maker (person or organization). When talking about a politician in a democracy, the public often determines whether they ge

I hope you don't take it as an offense, but this seems like learned hopelessness. Have you earnestly tried to speak to a decision-maker? Not everyone in the EU will listen to you, either. There is a bit of a learning curve. Sometimes,

You'd be surprised. Almost all government organizations have receptions you can call, and many private companies (who are not using client support to insulate themselves from feedback) will have executives you can speak to if you ask.
