It looks like this was made by Jason Zada ( https://twitter.com/#!/jasonzada ) according to a tweet by the actor ( https://twitter.com/#!/billoberstjr/status/12614080094496358... ).

I ran into the same situation the author did when getting SSL for a freelance client of mine. The problem is that nowhere in GoDaddy's certificate purchasing or setup process do they ask you what domain name you want the certificate to appl

I have to imagine that if Skype does anything with GroupMe at a technical level, they'll cut Twilio out of the picture. Skype writing checks to Twilio seems like a temporary situation.

by caryme 15y ago
Even if they do, I have the feeling that the loser in this purchase is Twilio. I have a hard time imagining Skype or eventually Microsoft paying Twilio to handle their telephony infrastructure.

This is really interesting and exciting from Microsoft's perspective. As I understand it, while a purchase like the Skype purchase waits for approval by the regulatory bodies, the purchasing company (Microsoft) and company pending purchase

I may still want to OCR it myself for more control over the process (particularly in identifying and correcting OCR errors). In my experience, there's a difference in expectation of quality between OCR to make a PDF searchable and OCR to g

I'll probably OCR the PDF and see where I can go from there. It's a big jump start that I couldn't have easily done on my own.

My grandmother, who passed away last week, was an author. She self-published two novels through a printer who typeset her books and printed a few hundred copies. I don't know what happened to the original text files she gave her printer a

This may be one of the exact scenarios they are after. I share a Netflix plan with my parents as well - I stream, they get DVDs. By separating the plans, Netflix has the opportunity to cut away at the plan sharing and cater separately to m

Programming as an intellectual activity is the only art form that allows you to create interactive art. I would venture to say that music composition is also interactive. Music, to me, is art twice: first in the composition and second in

One of my professors just mentioned the other day that some CS grad students built a course suggestion engine. It apparently worked - all they needed was the cooperation of the registrar's office to incorporate students' course history. Th

Mostly time at this point, but I also wasn't sure if there would be interest. I should have some more free time this spring... maybe I'll work to get an MVP out then? I'll let y'all know.

I've thought about this - when I get time, I want to implement this into my system. Know someone is about to come over? Go ahead and let them in advance. Maybe even leave a message for them for the phone to read when they get there.

I doubt it. It's listening for the 9 tone on the other end and I think it can distinguish between the two. This reminds me of a hack we did in my freshman dorm though... we cut the wire from a card reader to a washing machine and recorded

I actually implemented this idea using Twilio almost a year ago and have been using it actively ever since. I give my close friends 4-digit PIN numbers to my condo. When someone dials my number in the directory, it first prompts them for

Actually, the Jesus story never even says there were 3 wise men. It names 3 gifts, but never counts the wise men. Much of the Christmas story (including names for those "3" wise men) comes from church tradition, not the (very short) bible

The 'platform preview' is not a real beta. It doesn't have any components of the new UI, just a frame that renders a page with the new IE.
