I've poked at it once, but it's a toy without the tooling and documentation the commercial vendors provide. GPLv3 is also a non-starter.

No discussion of Ada is complete without referencing the cost of commercial development licenses. They're expensive. Very expensive. Any enthusiasm for this language is inevitably quashed upon encountering the $$,$$$ per-seat price of

I'm running mine in a very similar config as a lab VM host and for occasional product rendering. I would have preferred more cores, but the 3945WX is what work would buy me. The base-spec P620 is fairly cost-effective if you can find i

"The TCL Programming Language" is a recent (2017) book, paired with the language docs at https://www.tcl.tk/doc/ . The language itself is remarkably simple.

Having worked both as a sysadmin and a developer, vim is more a benefit to the former by virtue of its ubiquity. Learn vim if you know you will be encountering vim.

Thank you for this article. I have read the article. It's mostly a comparison between medical and non-medical cloth masks, in addition to reviewing basic properties and measures of effectiveness for masks in-general. Until a cloth mas

Those were simple and plausible suggestions, and yet (intentionally) absurd. You invoked costs, benefits, and tradeoffs to make that fact clear. And for what it's worth, gloves still meet the criteria - simple plausible low-cost is not

What do you mean by resistance? Does a simple question qualify as resistance? I'd settle for a reasonable answer from my local health authority on how something like a non-medical cloth mask, or a dentist's earloop mask is suppose

The vitriol I hear on this topic never ceases to amaze me. I never said anti-mask advocacy, neither did I state I wasn't in compliance with the aforementioned mask mandate.

I can echo this. Most unhappily, I think I may have just estranged myself from my father after an evening of trying to defend my questioning of the value of non-medical mask mandates. Some people want police-state style intervention, and to
