You did not think this through, did you. His chart shows that rendering 1000 photos is _faster_ (>3X) than rendering 200 photos. Think about it. How long it took to render photos 200-1000 (in the 1000 run) ? Negative time? Please don

Some of the measurements here are bogus. Consider the chart under "Mobile: Vanilla" heading. It seems to indicate that the total rendering time _drops_ with the number of pictures. That is _almost_ physically impossible. But it i

Heh, is this some kind of practical joke? I look at kangax's compatibility table and this particular thing barely implements anything in ES6. How can it be popular? An then you have the author claiming that he never wrote a compiler...

True. What happened was, back in the 2000-something, XML was so hyped that people pushed XML as a solution for everything. On the negative side, we had to endure managers coming back from “XML conferences” and recommending we ditch our Orac

I am not the one to promote XML, far from it, but the tooling for it is superb. Like, recently, we had to connect our (Java) app to NetSuite web service. All it took is to point to their web service endpoint, and the tool created strongly-t

I am not a potential customer for the app, but wow, what a nicely designed site. Loads fast, too. Mucho impressive.

Source? AFAIK if you want your border, padding and margin respected, there is no way to do the above in vanilla CSS. Which is why css-flexbox was proposed.

With css-flexbox, you probably can. Your DIV should have flex-grow: 1 which will make it take the allowable space along the "main axis" (shared with other flex-growers) and then align-items: stretch, to pick up all available space

do you have any experience creating a jit complier for a dynamic language? If you don't, you should not be commenting on this, nobody needs your input. If you do happen to be an expert, please point us to journal articles that explain

Sprinkling the garbage bin with some bleach works well, raccoons won’t touch it, plus it may kill some nasty bacteria on/in the bin, too.

As for the Theatre and Music... we can see the results... and the results are: Ruby is going from 1% people using it to 0.1%. The people that actually have to make things work have left Ruby.

Good point. To add to that, I must say that something is odd with this story. Honestly, if I hired a 37-year old, that started programming at the age of 8, I would have thought that I was hiring a “senior developer” (or hopefully a “wizard”

Did you ever work for a “non-startup”? Like, you are a car manufacturer, have to create some telemetrics software that has to work reliably in all kind of conditions, and hopefully not kill people, and has to be supported for the next 12 ye

I guess you never worked on a ‘business’ application (as opposed to ‘social’ app, or a ‘game’)? For example, let’s look at the screenshots below from a typical line-of-business app (AWS console). How do you think the UI should look like, wi

The title is misleading. This is not “AWS vulnerability”. What happened was that someone shared his/her admin-level credentials with the world. Whether credentials are for their AWS account, or Rackspace account, or Azure account, or t
