Ok, Great, i saw the other comment, JupyterHub is about to be released in version 0.9 – so if there are changes you like to go in, there is still some time. Feel free to send PR that add Canvas to the list of known Authenticators[1] for oth

There is a lot of work on the jupyterhub organization that provide custom authenticator (GitHub, laugh) feel free to reach out if you want to migrate your work there. Curious also why the existing GitHub Oauth did not work for you.

Internal state is often a problem, look at project like stichfix nodebook, and dataflow kernels, they make things a bit easier by re-executing cells. On of the issue is you always have internal state as soon as you interact with a data sour

Thanks for your comment. One of the next focus area, where we are looking for funding and help, is making sure the right restrictions and permissions are in place. We probably will put that in the context of GDPR/HIPPA/FERPA and

Different system and requirement need different tools, if you prefer text editor. Depending on your preference look at Emacs IPython Notebook, the Jupyter VS-Code extension, or Atom Hydrogen. That will basically let you select chunk of code

Though the current notebook is the 6th prototype, so there've been quite some work before actually being made "public". Hope the notebook didn't distract you too much from your PhD !

Thanks, we love GitLab as well ! Would appreciate to have your feedback on how to make integration easier and get productive and constructive discussion. Will we see GitLab at JupyterCon this august in NY ?

As we say in the blog post, the Jupyter Name has been around only since 2014, but the work started in 2001. So 17 years is a good check of time !

Trying to register via google domain says "Google Domains does not support the .APP ending". Is that on purpose (Google domain is listed on get.app as compatible) ? A cache issue ?

Grant usually differ from US taxes. And AFAICT, Jupyter received no money from govt source. Jupyter is not GPL but MIT, and volunteering is rarely about credit.

Fun fact, as far as the Jupyter team can tell, there are more full time Dev on Jupyter than CPython. Also pretty excited that bumpy recently got funding for 2 full time Dev that will work at UC BIDS!

Thanks for your feedback, Mathematica has indeed millions of $ to provide more features and advertise them, and Jupyter have only a few full time devs that probably do not advertise enough its features: 1) Binder makes that a git push away

If you update the `notebook` package there should be a workaround. Messages will be buffered on server-side until a client reconnect. It is still not perfect, but get part of the way. One long term plan is to have server-side model (not sur
