A 4 plex in the neighborhood will raise property values. If you can 5x the land's income earning potential it is more valuable. This is the whole idea behind a land value tax. Think of it this way - Single (wealthy) families are compet

Yes, that is what I am saying. Our banks are the problem. Does the 0.5% have a flat fee attached to it or could I make a 1 cent charge (+ 1 cent fee)? Edit: There are still gateway fees so my point stands.

Everything should be pay-as-you-go. We need infrastructure for low fee microtranscactions. Subscriptions exist because of the minimums on card payments. You can't charge a cent to read an article because the banks will be taking 20c +

There are a lot of roads in LA that are gated or just dead end. [1,2,3] They drive me insane. It effectively makes a gated community and I doubt the property tax revenue covers the tax dollars that go into these neighborhoods. Roads are a p

Housing doesn't have inelastic demand though. If the city gets cheaper (+capacity) more people can live in it. As well, if it gets too expensive people are priced out and leave. Ask any state about the Californians moving there. We are
