To a finite amount, as part of the program itself. If I write a JS program that loops infinitely, pushing a number to an array, that will consume infinite memory by the standards of the JS spec. There’s no hard, upfront bound on memory. If

Yes, but things we actually care and prove to be Turing complete are not. There’s no up front memory limitation in the lambda calculus or Javascript or Prolog.

Turing completeness is a mathematical concept, why try and extend it to physical devices? Ever computer I can think of corresponds to a finite state machine.

That’s definitely not Turing complete. Not because of the crank, but the fact the exact number of memory cells is hard coded. I can run an n-cell Rule 110 simulation on a DFA, which is obviously not Turing complete.

I think they’re appealing to the idea that by eating food before paying, you are indebted to the restaurant, and the very definition of legal tender is that it is valid for all debts.

Non-fungible physical items have existed forever, the whole point of NFTs is (attempting) to do this digitally. The Mona Lisa is not fungible.

LIBOR is not a rate, it’s a series of rates across different currencies. Rates are numbers though so I’m not sure what distinction you are trying to draw.

You can drink alcohol after work with colleagues though. It’s far more helpful socially than party drugs due to its ubiquity.

An arbitrary object? What else would arbitrary JSON parse into? Then you can access its properties, like with any JS object.

Well 180 is every currency, so you’ll have every single currency but only 1 pair for each currency except a select few with more? 50 of those currencies are fixed exchange rate so there’s not much point in an API. To be completely blunt it

Having 200+ pairs is not the same as 200+ currencies, so that’s quite misleading. You can have 200 pairs with 21 currencies.

The question is whether more is lost to transaction fees. They seem to answer that perfectly, no? There’s no way of donating money electronically without some fee.

The bigger factor in the size of the swap market dwarfing the size of the economy is due to the former being reported in terms of notional. I will happily enter into an interest rate swap with you on SOFR^-14 and a notional of USD 1 trillio
