It reminds me of one of my professors, actually also in economics. He would grade in a similar way. Basically he had some very extreme views, based on terribly simplified economic models, and would want you paraphrasing what he said, ideall

Is there any evidence for this? Processed foods contain all kinds of stuff. But I would gather frying an unprocessed egg in a teflon pan already collects similar amount of PFAS as some processed food product. On the plastic packaging front

My question would also be what kind of insight McKinsey can provide here. What, if anything, do they know about AI that we don't know?

So true. With proper type driven design you basically don't need a debugger anymore. But I still find it helpful when you need to check what's wrong in other people's code, since they might not design with types like I do.

Sorry, I think you misunderstood what I meant. If you only have one index, going from position 11 to 10 increases the value of the stock. But if you have a lot of indices, all these effects should average out to basically zero, since that s

True, but what if people buy a bunch of indices, where all these jump in and jump out effects average out. Only buying indexes is different from only buying one index.

That counts for crypto as well though. If your phone bill is in crypto, and society believes (!) in crypto, then you might have society enforcing it's beliefs with the full force of the law. I.e. imaginary. Your phone bill is just anot

Also pain and pleasure is an incentive system for human beings to do something. If you had an AGI without any incentive to do anything, it might be enslavable, but lack motivation to do anything. Why do we work? Because we want food, clothi
