Well, it's a good drama which happens to have a technological background. And it so happens, too, that this technological background is realistic, precise, and even historically accurate. It's a good advance to make tech dramas ap

Are they complementary? As in, is it worth to read the book after reading the blogposts, or do they tell the same story?

That was my first thought. But then again, all my private servers have been hacked or under intense attacks by bots, so maybe it is my own brain which is now compromised. Anyway, I think this is a super cool and creative service, kudos to t

Well, same as Linux, but since the later had a big community, it was more vocal and that lead to a larger userbase in the end. Yes, pre-installed Windows (and the lack of drivers) used to suck back in the day, but BeOS was in an awkward mid

I remember installing BeOS a long time ago, when I was fiddling with old linux distros which were almost impossible to install (what is the model of your RAMDAC? which is your interrupt controller? manually configure your modem!) I was abso

That was great out-of-the-box thinking, and I wonder if that could be used as one of these job interview questions: Q: "Your email server for some reason is only working for addresses within 500 miles of the server. What may go wrong?&

This BBC documentary is a complete insight into the production of microchips and the labor revolution they started. I watched it yesterday and I appreciated the perspective of what now is "the computing revolution" from a very pru

Slightly off topic, but does anybody know why the OpenBSD community has started using Comic Sans in all their material? Is it some kind of inside joke? I don't find it neither good nor wrong, but there must be some reason behind it.

I agree so much with this article. I have the feeling (which may be wrong, of course) that all the cool stuff nowadays is just repackaging the same shit we've always done, but on a different platform--web, android, iOS, whatever The tr
