Yes especially in an education setting where the level of overhead of Maven/Gradle for a student just learning to program is too high.

Virtual Threads are actually in their second preview which means it might not be years before we see them standard in the JDK.

Sure, but you could refer to the lineage of a dozen languages. Most of the world runs Java and evolving it takes care and consideration not to alienate a massive user base and ensuring that it evolves in the right way, not quick responses t

One of the goals of Project Amber [1][2] is to move the language towards a more data-oriented programming model. With Records, patterns, sealed classes, etc., it should feel much less verbose over time. And unrelated to your concern but add

There's a release every 6 months which have been packed with great stuff, and don't forget half the world's economy still runs on Java.

For motivation and to see who's involved there are a few other places you can go such as amber-dev [1] and his PR's [2]. [1] https://mail.openjdk.org/pipermail/amber-dev/2023-January/th... [2] http

Huh. Charge 25-40 cents/kWh, give back 5-8 cents. And that's not counting their own taxes and fees that allegedly go to improving their aging infrastructure that they can't fix with the profits they make.

One thing to keep in mind that I learned the hard way with my now wife is a startup is very much like a mistress. It not only takes your time away, but steals a lot of your emotional energy. Learn and deal with this early and often.
